Our Science class is a great adventure to be had. We will learn about our environment, how to live in our environment and how to investigate and research topics that are important to us.
We are all scientists inside, it is called curiosity. We will use our curiosity to guide our explorations and use what we all know to contribute to our pool of knowledge. Everyone has important experiences that will contribute to our learning about scientific topics.
"No amount of experimentation can ever prove me right; a single experiment can prove me wrong."
-Albert Einstein
Dear Parents and Guardians:
Inspire and explore with your young scientist. If they need assistance in finding an interesting topic or exploring an interesting topic share your experiences and interests. You are a world of information and unique experiences that will only enhance our young minds at work.
Join my library of websites to assist you as a parent to guide your child's curiosity; visit Diigo and search for my email address ([email protected]). Send me an invitation and I can share a collection of resources from classroom help to helping parents learn pertinent information.

ISTEP+ testing information
I felt such great confusion about ISTEP+ testing; I graduated knowing that ISTEP+ is a standardized test and that is all. So this section is comprised of my research to assist you as parents and guardians to understand everything there is to know about ISTEP+ and it's importance.
STEP 1: Watch our Superintendent Glenda Ritz's video discussing spring ISTEP+ testing and other pertinent educational topics on the table.

STEP 2: Review the testing windows information sheet to help you and your student plan for testing.

STEP 3: Prepare. Below are links that outline what information will be tested for each assessment. Use the BLUEPRINTS to identify areas in which your student can improve. As educators, we constantly assess (not always through traditional testing) your child's strengths and areas of need to inform our instruction to them. As a parent or guardian you can also use tools to identify these areas of need and therefore use time to work on additional exercises to improve each child's unique needs profile.
